Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do at Shell. Throughout my career that has spanned more than 25 years, I have worked in several countries and with many different cultures. Through recognizing, acknowledging and embracing diverse views, these experiences have shown me how we can leverage tremendous value to the business. Language, culture, gender, education or any other diverse origin or background can have a significant impact on how we solve problems, how we operate, and on our bottom line.
A diverse population in our organisations contributes to different ways of thinking, and through that provides the innovation we need to ensure our industry is both attractive and resilient. Collaboration is critical to our success. Inclusion and inclusive behaviours are at the heart of effective collaboration, be it with team members, colleagues in other parts of our organisations, partners in our joint ventures, or most importantly with our customers.
