We are dedicated to the promotion of sustainable management and use of the world’s energy resources for the benefit of all.

Our team work closely together with our global members and committee to organise the internationally renowned WPC Energy Congress which facilitates dialogue and connection across all spheres of the rapidly evolving global energy landscape and includes a focus on the social, economic and environmental impact of the energy sector.

Founded in 1933 our Secretariat is based in Central London.

Director General:

Due to impending retirement, we are searching for a new Director General

Working closely with the WPC Energy President and Committees, including the Executive Committee (board), you will oversee the daily operations of our organisation to ensure the continued positive impact of our activities within the global energy sector and creation of value to our membership spanning over 60 countries.

The requirements for this position are the following:

  • A knowledge and understanding of multilateral institutions like WPC Energy.
  • Senior experience in the energy industry.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and organisations.
  • Able to show relationship building and diplomatic skills and ability in dealing with diverse stakeholders in multilateral institutions.
  • Experience on working in an international environment and sensitive to multi-cultural settings.
  • Experience of overseeing financial performance, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Availability to travel frequently on an international basis.
  • Must be fluent in English although additional languages would be of benefit.
  • Experience in organising events and project planning would be an advantage.

The position will be based in London and residence must be in the U.K. The offer of employment will be competitive with international industry standards.

Under the supervision of the Director General, the Director will be responsible for the organisation of and management of contractors related to WPC Energy events (Congress, Young Professionals Forum and others). You will also be responsible for event technology and data management. You will build fluent and sound relationships with Organising Committees and other key stakeholders, as well as support and develop our Young Professionals Committee and their projects.
